February 2010
Who'd have ever thought we were going to live this long? 2010 ~ WOW!
First, if you are one of the nice folks who follows my web site regularly - I so apologize for no updates and no new maintenance articles since first of DECEMBER. First my old computer died during Dec, then it was THE Holidays, no time to shop for a new computer. Finally in January I got a new computer - but it's taken me a couple 'o three weeks to get used to the new programs and caught up on my over-flowing email box. So there you have it - my excuses. I plan on doing better in the immediate future, so you will have new stuff to look at and read about in here!
For February I have a couple of interesting new things to tell you about. First, I'm happy to announce that I will be writing articles for Genevieve Scmitt's online magazine - WomenRidersNow.com. She has asked me to write wrenching tips under the "Know Your Motorcycle" heading on the WRN web site. The first installment should be out soon.
Of course, I'm still writing for Thunder Roads, Rocky Mtn Region, print magazine. Just had lunch with Linda, the editor yesterday. We have an exciting year planned also. Check out my "Iron Horse Rodeo" article in this months Feb. magazine. Part Two of "Iron Horse Rodeos" will be coming out in the March Issue.
Both Magazines are helping me promote my latest book, ABC's of Motorcycle Wrenching, Jasmine's Wrenching Tips.
Along those lines, that book is selling well and I'm working on my next book - This 3rd book will be similar to my first book, Women In The Wind, Fearless Women of the 20th & 21st Centuries, in that it will be riding stories from a variety of women riders and their families.
Women In The Wind 2010 Winter Nationals
The Women In The Wind Winter Nationals will be held next weekend, February 19-21st in Phoenix, AZ. I plan on flying into Las Vegas to visit with the Sin Sity Sisters, and to promote my new book to some of the mc shops in Vegas. Then we'll all drive or ride over to Winter Nationals together later in the week. Should be a ton of fun and there is already a Margarita Party in the planning, amongst other events.
I will be working on updating this page and my maintenance article page a.s.a.p. before I head out of town, so check back.
Fugawe Girls Winter Dinner
Some of my favorite Fugawe Women, plus other friends and my daughter Rhianna, will be coming over for a Margarita - Mexican Pot Luck dinner the last week of Feb.
We always get together once or twice during the winter months every year, for a 'biker chick dinner'. We get to catch up on each others lives and have a warm evening of fun and camaraderie, even when we can't ride due to winter weather.
