January 2008

Well I for one am very glad that 2007 has ended, caput - finally over - big sigh of relief!
All in all 2007 was kinda sucky and difficult. Oh, there were high points for sure - My new grandson finally made his entrance to the planet. Both of my Deaf mc classes were totally awesome as it gets easier all the time for me to teach and communicate in that language. My trip & seminars for Biker Ally Magazine to Galena, Ill. last summer was really great and well received. I loved my rides- the Fugawe with Melissa, the PAS in MT. a 1,600 mi. solo ride and in September, Roger, Robby and I took another 2,000 mile road trip over to the Great Basin in NV & then on to the Grand Canyon, which was wonderful. Even so, there was much pain, disaster and other problems for many last year and I'm just glad it's DONE.
2008 on the other hand should prove to be a much better year. I just feel better right now than I did this time last year and many exciting things are already in the works for 2008. I wish the same good vibes for you and yours. One big change is that I will be working for several MC Training Co.s in the Denver area this year. I shall work for T3RG, ABATE of CO and MTA of Colorado Springs. I'm still trying to get into the Rider's Edge program as soon as they need me. For the past six years I worked exclusively for ABATE, but this year I'm branching out. T3RG plans to incorporate some Deaf Classes for me to teach into their curriculum soon. Just yesterday I was hired by the Rocky Mtn.Deaf School (elementary level) to come and teach dance classes to the deaf children. Though this may sound strange - it's actually a topic I've given much thought to for many years. Most of you might be surprised to learn that before I was a mc safety instructor, I taught ballet for over 30 years. Anyway- that's all ancient history and I'm not in that kind of shape these days. But these kids don't need ballet, they just want to learn to dance for fun. I have lots of ideas & expect to have lots of fun with this one!
